In the Galician bis, on the same route as the previous one, the Galician Road Championships on Monday saw the victory of Pablo García, with great prominence for the U23 team of the Fundación Contador. The Asturian Edu Pérez-Landaluce was the best classified in this day in which the Day of the Galician Letters was celebrated.

On the first pass of Monte Alba, Davide Piganzoli and Joel Nicolau took off, although the Balearic rider left the Italian behind on the second climb. The pair had an advantage of 2’20”.
The last climb, far from the finish line, gave rise to a race situation in which it was really only fifteen riders who had a say in what concerned the victory once Nicolau was caught. There was Edu Pérez-Landaluce, who attacked with 12 km to go. Once they were caught, kilometres later, the sextet from which the winner of the race would emerge was formed: Pablo García. The regional title went to Roberto Mediero.
Edu Pérez-Landaluce, rider of the U23 team of the Foundation: “I finished the day very happy. It was a very good race that allowed me to get into a good rhythm after a short break a few weeks ago. In the end, this type of race, long, with mountain passes, suits me well for my characteristics as a long-distance runner. I had a good feeling all day and in the end I didn’t hesitate to try it. It didn’t work out, but I had to try”.
