A crack in the radius of his left arm leaves David Martin unable to take part in the Gran Piemonte

David Martín Romero could not compete this Thursday in the Italian Gran Piemonte with the EOLO-KOMETA Cycling Team as stagiaire because of the injury derived from his recent fall in the last stage of the Ronde de l’Isard.
Martin was involved in a crash in the final stage and took a heavy blow to his arm, side and left hip. Although he tried to start riding again, the pain was getting worse and worse and he finally had to withdraw from the race. Back in Seville, he was diagnosed with a crack in the radius of his left arm.
“On Sunday, the truth is that I was already feeling bad. The pain was significant. And in the end you also know when a fall is just a matter of paint and plaster or when there is something more to it. This was the case. On Sunday I was very sore in my left wrist and already at that moment it was clear to me that it was going to be difficult to ride on Thursday. When you have an opportunity like this, you have to go not only with the maximum illusion, but also in the best possible shape. It’s a pity, I’m very upset about this situation, but that’s the way this sport is”, he laments.

The cyclist from Mairena de Aljarafe was also unable to race in the last Circuito de Getxo, the race in which he was scheduled to make his debut with the ProTeam, due to his quarantine for having been in close contact with a positive case of COVID-19.
Martín has been one of the most outstanding riders on the U23 scene in Spain this season. The rider from Seville achieved two victories in the Spanish Cup (Memorial Ángel Lozano in Valladolid; Gran Premio Primavera de Ontur, in Albacete), has won stages in the Vuelta a Castellón and the Vuelta a Valencia and very good results in the stage tours of Extremadura, Cantabria and Zamora, among others.
