Top-10 for David Martín in the Ses Salines-Felanitx Trophy
The second trophy of the Challenge de Mallorca has brought the first top-10 of the season for Team Polti Kometa. In a dangerous sprint for brave riders, David Martín has shown his qualities to get into the finish line and place himself in the ninth position.
A result that confirms the good physical condition of the young Spanish sprinter, protagonist in the final meters thanks to the work and confidence of the team. In addition to the top-10 for David, Javier Serrano finish in front positions helping in the work in the final part and learning also in a type of final that is called to fight as a reference of the team in other opportunities of the season.
There are still three trophies left in this Challenge of Mallorca: Friday’s day with the incursion into the Sierra de Tramuntana and the ascent of Puig Major; the reduced sprint in Port d’Andratx after climbing Sa Gramola on Saturday; and the sprint finish on Sunday in Palma, which will bring the competition to their finish.
David Martín: “I was feeling pretty good and I was confident for this finish. I made a small mistake in the turn 400 metres from the finish, but I’m happy with the feeling. It was a crazy and very fast sprint. My team-mates supported and guided me in the final part, in the last 10 kilometres, and that made it easier for me to be in the fight and in the top-10”.

We played our part, knowing that it was a day for David Martín. Javi Serrano has helped him well, both have learned today to fight in difficult, tense days, in which the objective has been maintained as a team, showing courage and courage to not lose face to the race”.
