GP Fourmies kicks off an intense month of September

The EOLO KOMETA returns to France to compete this Sunday in the GP Fourmies, a race full of small hills that will once again offer a lot of spectacle and a high level winner. It will be the debut of EOLO KOMETA in a competition that has been running for 90 editions.

Two circuits, the first one of 36 kilometres and three passes through the finishing line, to then face the final 6 laps of 9 kilometres through the streets of Fourmies. Tension, peloton splits in the last positions and cyclist must always ride at the front if they want to have a chance to fight for the victory. In total, 197.6 kilometres in which neither wind nor rain seem to be the main protagonists.

Strong line up for GP Fourmies with Davide Bais, Simone Bevilacqua, Mirco Maestri, David Martin and Javier Serrano as references for the mass finish; Davide Piganzoli and Samuele Rivi, who is highly motivated after his recent victory in Poitou Charentes.

“It’s a long course and also with almost 2,500 metres accumulated”, explains sports director Giovanni Elena, who emphasises the final circuit: “Those constant climbs, descents and turns wear out the peloton, which normally arrives in a reduced group to play for the victory in the sprint”. As with all these races, there will be a large number of spectators and that encourages our ambition from the first kilometres: “We’ll be looking for the initial breakaway to take the lead and this is important because these are races with a lot of visibility. The final five laps will be about survival to try to get into the finish with David Martín or Javi Serrano”.
