A sprint for strong cyclists at Polynormande
France will host the first race of a busy month for EOLO KOMETA. The team will have hardly any rest in the next two weeks, with the main objective of adding stage wins and great results in all its race calendar.
This Sunday, La Polynormande and its almost 170 kilometres of course will be looking for a winner with a typical French classics route. After a first part full of steep climbs where the breakaway will be formed, there will be 11 final laps of a 12-kilometre circuit, the outstanding climb of the Côte de la Pigeonnière and the final uphill finish.
A race in which positioning, a good attitude and the ability to avoid tough race situations will be key. Only those who are well positioned in the final laps will be able to fight in the end of the race. Although it is the summer season, the weather is always an unknown in this part of France.
They will take the start representing EOLO KOMETA an almost full of Italian cyclists, led by Mirco Maestri and his veteran as road captain, surrounded by fast men like Giòvanni Lonardi and Simone Bevilacqua, with brave cyclists and who will have to try to surprise like Davide Bais, Andrea Pietrobon and Samuele Rivi as well as the participation of the Spanish stagiaire Fran Muñoz, in a really good terrain for his characteristics.
Stefano Zanatta: “It’s a typical French race, without big climbs but very nervous. It will be decided on the final circuit, and I think we can do well with Bais or Lonardi, who come from concentrating in Italy; Rivi also arrives from Czech Tour in good condition and in general I think that although it is an unknown race, must be faced with the right attitude looking for the best possible results”.
