A Mungia Sari Nagusia of fight and struggle
Another nice performance of the U23 structure of the Contador Foundation this Sunday in the leg-breaking circuit of the Mungia Sari Nagusia. The blue team always sought to have a presence in the race, exploring its options in the face of the numerous offensive movements that the day offered. Luca Bagnara, in the breakaway of nine riders that led two laps of the circuit, or Raúl López, with an acceleration from the peloton to reach a quartet in the lead at that moment and create a group of eight riders, were two of those in charge of embodying that involvement and desire.
The key to the race was summed up before the start by Antonio González from Soria to the SportpublicTV cameras: “We come with a strong team, which has just done a great job in the Vuelta a Castellón, and we have a great team to have a good race. The Memorial Sagasti is a race that will be quite hard. We’ll have to be at the front, watch out for the breaks and make sure the race doesn’t go too early”.
On the last lap there was a break of three riders, Unai Aznar (Finisher), Pablo García (Caja Rural) and Sergio Gutiérrez (Gomur), who were joined by Samuel Fernández (Caja Rural) in the streets of Mungia. In the end, the victory went to Gutiérrez.
