XXX Vuelta a Valladolid
Stage 1: Valladolid – Valladolid / Asociación Arca Real (124 km)
The thirtieth edition of the Vuelta a Valladolid got underway this Friday afternoon with a long stage of more than one hundred kilometres in which the battle between the skirmishes and the sprint fell on the side of the sprinters. A group of 42 riders set up on the finishing straight, a volley in which Portuguese rider Antonio Morgado imposed his speed. Joan Cadena finished fourth and Joel Díaz eighth.
Also in the leading group were Pedro García and Balazs Pollner, both from the blue squad led by Gorka Beloki in the Valladolid race. Alem Herráiz finished 10 seconds behind this group, while Héctor García finished in the same group. The EOLO-KOMETA Cycling Team will start Saturday’s double day, individual time trial in the morning and online stage in the afternoon, as the best team of the race.
