The race took place over a circuit of just over 27 kilometres in the area of Valdarecete and Carabaña, not at all flat terrain, which had to be completed in three laps. Pérez and García, as well as his brother Pedro who finished ninth, were in the leading group that fought for the victory. A group of twelve riders from which the rider from Electromercantil started in the last few metres.
César Pérez: “It was a tough race where the selection was made on the climb of the circuit, before Carabaña. In the last step of the climb I was able to make a selection that reached the finish line. It was a pity that Iker Pérez escaped in the last kilometre. It was too close to catch him”.
