Junior victory in the Guadiana Circuit
The weekend was completed in Spain by the Polartec-Kometa junior riders, who won in their first race of the year, the Guadiana Circuit, thanks to a great performance by Carlos Rodríguez.
The team of Guillermo Gutiérrez put into play a tactic in which his strong man was the Andalusian from Almuñecar Carlos Rodríguez, who made good the work of all his teammates. Rodriguez was in charge of being in the cuts, of being ahead in the climbs and, in short, finishing a race always complicated to control. With the victory, he also confirmed in his debut as a junior what he was already aiming as a cadet, a category in which he won the Vuelta al Besaya and was proclaimed Spanish Time Trial champion.
The victory was decided at 5 kilometers to go, when Carlos decided to launch the last attack and was able to leave alone, crossing the finish line like this. By this way, he won the prize for the most combative rider and the Mountain GC, while his teammate Luis Miguel Mendoza won the Sprints and the whole Polartec-Kometa the teams victory.
