The Vuelta a Salamanca celebrates its Golden Jubilee with three hard stages and a key day in the Sierra de Francia

50 Vuelta Ciclista a Salamanca
From 9 to 11 de september

A menu of three stages, as was the case in the last edition, make up the proposal for a very special edition of the Vuelta Ciclista a la Provincia de Salamanca. The helmantic race reaches its fiftieth edition, no less than half a century of life, with Julián Berrendero as the rider who inaugurated its list of winners back in 1935. Since then, with periods of hiatus and some continuity between 1989 and 2011, a list of illustrious winners among which stand out Miguel Indurain (1983) or Agustín Tamames (1965, 1966), among many others. The historic Promesal Cycling Academy, one of the oldest in Castilla y León, came to end the last period of organisational silence, seven years, to take over the reins of its organisation in 2018. And in this 2022 they face their fourth year at the helm of the event.

Fernando Tercero from Castilla-La Mancha returns to a race in which he climbed the podium in the last edition, when he finished in the third step of a final podium that was led by the Brazilian, now professional, Vinicius Rangel. Third in the podium is the leader of a strong team that also goes to Salamanca with the winner of the Spanish Cup Elite-Sub23, Fran Muñoz.  Javi Serrano, leader of the RFEC U23 ranking after the last update, Antonio González and the Italians Manuel Oioli and Gabriele Raccagni complete a ‘sextet’ that in this race will be led from the car by Gorka Beloki.
