Fourth place for Pietrobon in a Trofeo Guerrita where the work in La Perdiz selects the race
Trofeo Guerrita / Copa de España
Alcantarilla – Alcantarilla (167 km)
A frenetic edition of the Guerrita Trophy, which was at times under water, where the very high pace wreaked havoc on the approach and the climb to La Perdiz and reduced the group of aspirants to victory in Alcantarilla to just over twenty riders, finally below twenty. At the finish line, the Russian Gleb Syritsa won for the second consecutive victory in the Cup. Andrea Pietrobon finished fourth. Ramón Fernández and Fernando Tercero, eleventh and twelfth, also arrived in the leading group.
La Perdiz made the great selection and the subsequent ascent to Gebas was the final touch to highlight a reduced group where the EOLO-KOMETA Cycling Team had a good representation of four riders.

The Priviley Towers rider outlined the uncertainty with a solo breakaway, but ended up being chased and the last 20 kilometres were a carousel of accelerations, attacks and counterattacks impossible to contain.
With 15 kilometres to go, Fernando Tercero made his move. In the final ten kilometres, Ramón Fernández did the same. Towards the finish line, the Contador Foundation team controlled firmly, but Syritsa was again the fastest.

Andrea Pietrobon, who remains at the top of the Spanish Cup overall for elite riders: “I had good legs all day, it was a really fun race. I was unlucky because I had a puncture after the first climb and towards the end I had a small problem with the gears, but I have to thank all my team-mates because they have been helping me all day long both on the climbs and on the flat and for the sprint. I hope to keep improving in the next races”.
