Juan Pedro López confirms his best moment with a resounding triumph in Mungia
The Andalusian Juan Pedro López (Lebrija 1997) took a solo victory in the Sagasti Memorial, a race reserved to Under-23 riders that has had the best 25 teams of the Spanish peloton on a route of 137 kilometers and four laps to a circuit whose hot spot was the ascent to Gatika.
During the majority of the race was protagonist a breakaway of 12 riders among which was another man from Polartec, the Portuguese Daniel Viegas, a freshman rider who is developing a very good season with the colors of the Alberto Contador Foundation.
In the fourth and definitive turn to the circuit of Mungia, the break came to an end and in the climb to Gatika went alone Latorre, but behind the strongest riders reacted until forming a group of six among which was Juampe Lopez. The small group reached the head rider on the downhill and everything was resolved in a final climb where Juampe imposed his good moment of form to leave alone and won with 8 seconds of advantage over another of the riders that is doing a great season this year, Jaume Sureda.
Juampe López confirmed today his excellent result in the recent Championships of Andalusia, where he achieved the victory both in the time trial and in the U-23 road race, a double that he had announced after a solid performance in France, in the Ronde de L’Isard, where he was the best rider of the Polartec Team against many of the best amateurs of the European peloton.
