Bais and Gavazzi the most brilliant, in the last race of the season

When a season ends, it’s nomal to find yourself dealing with conflicting feelings. There is the legitimate desire to unplug a bit and together there is the human sorrow for the people with whom one has shared everything and who will not be meeting for a while, there is satisfaction for what has been done and there is some regret for what could have been done.

Even the Veneto Classic slipped away like that: very good Bais and Gavazzi, able to stay in the first group until the last kilometers before giving in to the frantic pace of the UAE men who dominated the race. Especially Bais, who confirmed his excellent finish to the season and only broke away on the last dirt climb. Now, it’s time to turn the page: and it’s already time, for everyone, to think about next year and a 2023 still EOLO-KOMETA-branded.

Stefano Zanatta: “We did what was within our possibilities, having a good race with Bais and Gavazzi and holding out until the last. More was objectively difficult: some regret remains because this would have been the perfect race for Vincenzo Albanese.”

Davide Bais: “I gave everything, in this really beautiful race: unfortunately on the last dirt road I couldn’t push anymore and I lost a lot of positions. Too bad, because I could have brought home a better placing.”
