Fetter, a success only touched on

Erik Fetter came close to success in the general classification of the Tour of South Bohemia. Thanks to his second place in today’s stage, the young Hungarian rider took second place in the general classification. A result that gives satisfaction and a hint of disappointment, as it happens every time a great goal is only touched.

Biagio Conte: “We tried to make the race by starting a very strong pace from the first kilometers eventually this breakaway with Fetter and Rosa went away. Unfortunately, in the small group was also the leader of the general classification who was thus able to defend his lead, otherwise Erik would have definitely won the general classification. We console ourselves with the podiums won on each day with Albanese, with Eric’s second place in the general classification and with his victory in the youth classification.”

Erik Fetter: “In the end I am happy because a second place in the overall standings is always a great result. Today’s was the right breakaway, and for a while I thought I could win the general classification.Unfortunately, in our group there was also the leader who had more than 20 seconds ahead of me and this did not allow me to overtake him. I think the team performed very well in this race, and I look forward to the upcoming events and the Italian calendar with great confidence.”
