Three competitions to resume the calendar

EOLO Kometa resumes the competitive activity in the north of Spain with two races in Euskadi and the two days of the Vuelta a Castilla y León. Very different terrains that will give options to sprinters and powerful riders in the search for the victory.

Ordizia and its 5 laps of the circuit with the Altzo and Abaltzisketa climbs will be the first of the fronts to be contested by the blue team. More than 160 kilometres and the always demanding orography of the Basque Country, which will also be marked by the presence of big squads looking to accelerate the pace of the race.

In Castilla y León, two very different days with the opportunity for the sprinters on the first stage, although the main group can be selected on the Villadepera climb and on the final terrain. The town of Guijuelo will be the epicentre of the second stage of the race, which is clearly mountainous and has five climbs. An opportunity for climbers and powerful cyclists.

This competitive week will be closed by the Circuito de Getxo, another classic competition in the area of Bizkaia, where the riders’ strength will be stretched every lap of the course. The tough terrain in the last kilometre, which will be climbed on each lap, and the novelty of El Vivero, will create a whip that will serve as a filter for the finish, normally reserved for a small group.

Jesús Hernández: “We have riders to do very well in the classics and we are aware of the opportunity. We are even more motivated if possible, very tough competitions in which we have riders who can really aspire to do well. In Castilla y León, the combination of a day more favourable to sprinting and the second one in Guijuelo, without a flat metre, will also present a very tough stage. I have confidence in riders like Gavazzi and Ropero, who are in good condition and are ready to shine in these four days of competition”.
