The Apennines as a tribute to the Giro d’Italia
Giro dell’Appennino (1.1)
2nd juny: Pasturana – Génove (191’7km)
Even with all senses enraptured by the great performance of EOLO Kometa in the Giro d’Italia, the competition continues but does not leave the country. The Giro dell’Appennino will be held this Thursday between Pasturana and Genova with five climbs of great difficulty and special mention to the Petralavezzara and Madonna della Guardia climbs, which will serve to select the main group.
Before that, 60 very easy kilometres. In total, 8 scoring stages for the intermediate sprint that turn this into a nice classification to fight for along the route. The illusion to see where they manage to arrive and if they can dispute the race is there. Attitude, work, enthusiasm and commitment.
Biaggio Conte: “It is one of the longest running races in Italy and with a high level of success. We are talking about a very demanding race, which forces everyone to do their best to try to get a good result. We are facing it with riders who have just competed in Hungary and are resting, so they will arrive with renewed strength. Ravasi will take on the role of leader. We also hope that the younger riders can gain experience in this beautiful race”.
