Ropero shows his power in the finale of Per Sempre Alfredo
Per Sempre Alfredo (1.1)
Firenze-Sesto Fiorentino (172,7km)
A week of strong emotions comes to an end. Of intense competition. In races of the highest level, where we have been protagonists and the great role of EOLO Kometa has been recognized.
Per Sempre Alfredo was no exception. It was hard to get into the race, with special mention to the good role of Ropero throughout the day, with the best and active in the final part. His attempt, together with other brave riders, tried to surprise the favourites on the climb to Collina.
It was impossible to jump to their control or to measure himself against them. It is enough with the satisfaction of having been able to try and to think about a competition that does not cease. From Tuesday, Coppi e Bartali.
Biaggio Conte: “I’m not entirely happy, although I was pleased to see Ropero hold on until the end. He rode well, in the last lap entering the breakaway with five other riders. We wanted to wait for the last climb and test him but he didn’t have the legs. Sergio García helped a lot in supporting Ropero, making it easier for him to be competitive in that final part. I think it should have been a good day for Fancellu, but he still lacks a lot of racing rhythm”.
