Márton Dina, Hungarian national mountain bike champion in the XCO modality
The magyar cyclist of the Kometa Cycling Team Márton Dina was proclaimed champion of Hungary of mountain bike in the modality of cross country (XC) after prevailing this Saturday in the test that put in game the titles, celebrated on a very technical circuit of four kilometers in the famous Kamaraerdei Ifjúsagi Park of Budapest.
Dina, who is fighting to represent her country in this modality in the next Olympic Games in Tokyo, in 2020, imposed her strength from the middle of the competition in this event that, at the same time, came to recognize the twenty years of existence of the organizing club, Superior MTB.
Dina and András Parti left halfway through the race, achieving a half-minute margin over Attila Valter (CCC). During the third lap, an acceleration of Dina did not find immediate answer in her companion. The cyclist of the Kometa Cycling Team would quickly achieve a minute of margin that allowed him to win easily with a time of 1h23:09. Valter, who finished more than two minutes away, finally hung the silver, while Parti finished third, already three minutes away, and won the bronze medal.
“It was a great race that I could control from the first lap. My legs responded well, so during the third lap I attacked and nobody could follow me. I was two minutes ahead of my nearest pursuer on the finish line. The race was very tough psychologically and also very technical, it had three very steep climbs, jumps and several slippery corners on the descents. You needed to be focused at all times”, explains Dina about her national success.
