Eurobike 2018, a very pleasant experience
During this week the German town of Friedrichshafen has become the Mecca of the bicycle sector thanks to a new edition of the Eurobike. The great fair of the sector, where the main industries related to the world of cycling meet, changed its format for 2018, reducing it to three days, bringing forward its celebration by one and a half months and turning exclusively to the professionals of this universe. Polartec, one of the’title sponsors’ of the teams of the Alberto Contador Foundation, had an important presence with a stand visually and materially led by its continental team Polartec-Kometa. Up to 1,400 exhibitors from 50 different countries attended this edition.
“For us to be so well represented at the most important bicycle fair in the world is an honor, a luxury and especially a great opportunity for the enormous visibility that brings us to the entire project going hand in hand with Polartec. The entire conception of the Polartec stand at the fair, from its design to its focus, has taken into account its sponsorship of the Alberto Contador Foundation teams. This is another example of the differentiating nature of our structure with respect to the rest of the projects in the category and the enormous and substantial involvement of our sponsors. Their involvement with this project is maximum, they feel it as theirs and give it a different visibility, which is a way of differentiating us. Now it has been Polartec, but on other occasions it has been Kometa. We are really very proud and grateful to have their commitment and the feedback that comes to us is also very satisfying,” explains Fran Contador.
The General Manager of the Foundation’s teams was present at the Eurobike together with Paco Romero, Marketing & Sponsors Relationship Manager, Ivan Basso, Sport Manager, and Alberto Contador himself. On Sunday, the Madrid exciciclist starred in an event, Meet the legend, with the attendees where he tackled the motivations, objectives and challenges not only of the Polartec-Kometa teams, present at continental, U23 and junior categories, but also the foundation that bears his name and carries out work that goes beyond the merely sporting, such as awareness campaigns to prevent ictus or the solidarity initiative’Bikes for Life’.
Polartec, in its preeminent stand 205 located in Hall 7, dedicated exclusively to textiles and accessories, wanted to reinforce its autonomous role as a brand in the hands of the team, a commitment in which it has intensified its efforts in the last two years, without abandoning its important role as a producer and supplier of technical fabrics that are used by major firms in the sector, such as Santini, Sportful, Giordana, Rapha, even Mavic, among many others that presented news linked by Polartec in this Eurobike. The Delta fabric ranges for the sunny climate, Alpha for cooler temperatures, or NeoShell for the days spent in the water have had an important share of attention in Friedichshafen.
These three days in Germany have also served to lay some foundations for the coming season, both with the American company and with various technical sponsors of the sports structures. Intense days of meetings and encounters. Vittoria, Rotor, Tacx, Gaerne, Kask, Look Cycles, have been other firms supporting the project that have been present on German soil.
In the case of Polartec, with the new jerseys for next year: “We have started to work on the wardrobe for next season, on the materials we are going to use, on the different garments we are going to use and of course also on the design. We want to bet for a different design, always maintaining the identity of the Alberto Contador Foundation in the equipment and that at the same time people like them, that they please the sight and at the same time impact and communicate. That’s the idea we’ve been working on these days and soon we’ll have some first designs”, concludes Contador. Soon, in that sense, from the Polartec-Kometa we will be able to give you some news.
