The Sagasti Memorial closes a successful block of competition for the under-23 team

The team will return to Basque soil to compete in the Memorial Sagasti in Mungia after a very successful week in the Circuito Montañés. It will be a demanding race in which six riders of the team will participate.

The team will travel to Mungia with practically the same squad that has competed in the last weeks. Riccardo Archetti, Bálint Feldhoffer, Tommaso Bessega and Álex García will repeat from the Cantabrian stage race and Gabriele Bessega will return to the team after the week of rest at the end of the Volta Castelló. Gerard Cano will also return to the competition after a longer break. The six riders will travel to Mungia with the aim of completing a great week for the team.

They will have to complete four laps on a circuit with several short but demanding climbs and the Alto de Mesa (0.9km-6.3%) every lap. It will be a race with a demanding profile, completing 138 kilometres, but where it will be difficult to open big differences as the climbs will not be long enough.

“It’s a leg-breaking profile where small groups usually arrive. Our trump cards are the Bessega brothers, they are fast and have proven to be in good shape. The race was for eight riders, but we will go with six because of Sanroma’s injury and Daniel’s crash this week. We are very happy after this week working well and we hope to finish this 14-day tour with a good result”, explains Miguel Gómez who will lead the team in Mungia after doing it in Logroño, Castellón and the Circuito Montañés.

Gerard Cano returns to the competition with the team with a lot of desire to do well: “The sensations are very good, both mine and the team’s, who come from doing an impressive role in the Circuito Montañés. I think we are going to be able to fight in this Clasica de Mungia, as it is very well adapted to our profile. We are looking forward to compete and want to do well”.
