The under 23 team faces the first race of the year in Memorial Sanroma Valencia
The under 23 team will start the 2024 season in the roads of Castilla-La Mancha racing in Almagro as part of the Memorial Manuel Sanroma during the 17th and 18th of February.
The team faces the race after the training camp in Pinto with 7 riders and a lot of ambition. The team will try to repeat the good results of the past edition, when they got a third place on the overall classification and the victory in 2022. This Memorial Sanroma will be the debut of the whole squad this season and the first race in the Polti Kometa structure for Pablo García, also.
The race will be hold on two different stages. The first one with a hilly profile with two climbs to Alto de la Garganta and the final climb to Ermita Virgen de los Santos where, probably, the first time differences will apear. The second stage, in the other hand, will have a more flat and longer profile but also a long climb to Alto de Huertezuelas (7km – 5,2%) and Alto de la Garganta with the top at 16 kilometres to go.
Pablo García: “I’m ready to start racing. It´s been a long time working and trying to adapt to the new team. My objetives for this season are a little bit far so i’m at my top level but I think I have a good form to help mi team since the first day. Mentally, I really want all the work I have done in winter to be reflected on the road”.
Tommaso Bessega: “we have just finished the training camp, I think I have a good physical performance and I am motivated for the start of the races”.
