Doce corredores del equipo en el Campeonato de España
Prácticamente la totalidad de los catorce corredores del Specialized-Fundación Alberto Contador fueron seleccionados por sus respectivas autonomías para tomar parte en los Campeonatos de España junior, donde Álvaro Cuadros logró la medalla de bronce en contra reloj, mientras Cristian Torres, quinto, fue el mejor clasificado del equipo en la prueba en línea.
La carrera, con los siete pasos por la subida al Santuario de la Fuensanta, se hizo muy dura debido al calor, lo que hizo que muchos participantes sufrieran calambres a causa de la deshidratación.
