El Flex junior inicia su gira por Bélgica

Hoy viaja a Bélgica un equipo de seis corredores del Flex-Fundación Alberto Contador que, como cada año desde la creación del equipo junior, disputará tres pruebas del calendario de este país con el objetivo de dar a conocer a los corredores españoles el complicado ciclismo de los Países Bajos.

Hace dos temporadas, los juniors de la Fundación Contador ganaron con Angoitia, el año pasado lo hicieron con Ángel Fuentes y este año esperan repetir con alguno de los seis elegidos, Juanpe López, Guillem Cassú, Joan Bou, Sergio Hernández, Claudio Clavijo y Antonio Barbero. “Es un equipo fuerte, muy competitivo para las clásicas, con un sprinter como Clavijo y gente potente para el llano, más algunos escaladores”, explica Guillermo Gutiérrez, que les dirigirá en esta ocasión.

El equipo comenzará la competición el próximo día 29 en Reningelst, continuará en Gistel el 31, en el Trofeo Johan Musseuw, y concluirá el 1 de agosto en Torhout, aunque dos corredores, Juanpe López y Sergio Hernández, prolongarán su estancia en Bélgica para disputar una vuelta de tres días, la Aubel-Thimister-La Gleize, integrados en el Tieltse Rennersclub, con el que la Fundación Alberto Contador ha suscrito desde hace dos temporadas un enriquecedor acuerdo de cesión mutua de corredores.

Uno de los ciclistas que mejor pueden hacerlo esta semana es Joan Bou, que suma ya cinco victorias en esta temporada y que llega “en el mejor momento del año”, según dice él mismo. Será su primera experiencia en Bélgica porque “estuve a punto de ir en Mayo, pero me llamaron a la selección para correr el Trofeo Morbihan”.

“Estoy muy bien después de las dos últimas vueltas que hemos disputado, Besaya y la Bira”, explica Bou. “Me hace ilusión ir a Bélgica para ver cómo se corre allí y conocer un terreno diferente. Creo que se me dará bien, porque ya he corrido aquí con corredores extranjeros y espero adaptarme a las carreteras estrechas y el terreno llano”.
