Óscar Orts

The Alicante native, trained in the Llopis Sports Group and the San Vicente Cycling Club, is a cyclist who has excelled in the Spanish Championships in track cycling in the cadet category (titles in the Omnium, Madison, Elimination and Punctuation) and this year won the Gran Premio Ciclista San Sebastián de los Reyes and excelled in countless races. At home there was no connection with cycling, although his father had had various experiences in the world of motocross. The young Orts started cycling because a friend of his sister Arancha’s did this sport. One day he ended up trying it out with his team and the experience turned out to be addictive.  He started on a path that even ended up being joined by his father. The scenic surroundings of the Orts’ residence are a small orographic paradise for the practice of this sport: La Carrasqueta, the Balcón de Alicante… Very evocative climbs for cycling tourism. “Practically next to our house we have the Maigmó, another very cool climb to enjoy”. As for other hobbies of the young Óscar, he is no exception compared to the kids of his generation: “I like playing video games, going out with my friends, being with my family, listening to music, I especially like Eladio Carrión, and I also like reading books on personal development”.
