Dario Giuliano makes the leap to the U23 category with Fundación Contador
French reinforcement for the U23 structure of the Contador Foundation. The French cyclist Dario Giuliano (Pau, February 4, 2005) joins the formation directed by Rafa Diaz Justo from Team 31 Jolly Cycles U19.
Giuliano has had the opportunity to compete during this season in the Spanish calendar. In mid-July he won the second edition of the Clásica Navarra, held in 2023 in Villatuerta on a demanding 109-kilometre route. “Because of the particularities of that race and the way he competed that day, he caught our attention there and we started to pay attention to him. He has very good results in international races at a very high level”, says Díaz Justo.
“I started cycling when I was seven years old. My father competed in amateur races and I liked to go and watch him. When he was approaching the end of his career, it made me want to try it too. And from then on, without stopping. Cycling is a very tough sport, but nevertheless it gives you a lot of emotions and that makes it special. Whether it’s a good feeling or a bad feeling, in the end it’s all about surpassing yourself. And that’s what I like most about cycling,” says the Frenchman.
Giuliano is the first young rider who faces the change of category with the EOLO-KOMETA Cycling Team and he will not be the only one. “We want to rejuvenate the squad. The increased interest of WorldTour teams in talented young riders for their own development structures has had an impact on the current management and conditions of the transfer market. This invites us to work on a longer term basis”, adds Díaz Justo.
“Joining EOLO-KOMETA is a huge opportunity for my career. My goal is to be able to exploit my abilities to the maximum and to continue to progress in order to one day reach the Holy Grail of professionalism. With a very rich calendar, with international races,” concludes the rider from the capital of the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department.
