Fortunato comes close to victory and is king of the mountain

Ambition knows no limits in EOLO Kometa team, and the best proof of this was the second stage of the Tour of Slovakia. The blue team went ahead to the victory, and although they didn’t got it, they were very close with Lorenzo Fortunato and also won the mountains jersey.
Fortu knew how to manage the situation of the race to add points in the different climbs. In this way, he managed to stand out in the classification of the best climber. A reward for his hard work.
The group broke up on the last climb with Davide Bais setting the pace so that no one else entered in the group, Fortunato scored again and Bais himself started looking to wear down the rivals. It wasn’t long before he rounded off the day with a win. A third place of enormous value with two days still to go.
Lorenzo Fortunato: “Today’s stage was not the best for me, but we still tried to select the race and win. Tomorrow is a tough stage and we will try again. The work at altitude is now visible”.
Coppa Sabatini
Vincenzo Albanese had said it: I will try, I will try to win. He said it, and he did it: he tried. He struggled, when with 20 km to go a small group left to go and win the race, he struggled and alone got back with the best (the only one from a Professional team) trying to stay with them. He gritted his teeth when Vlasov sprinted alone, when there were then five left to play for the win, and when he won the chasing group sprint. Vincenzo Albanese: “This was a peculiar race, after 100 km sprints started from far away and the group immediately broke into many pieces. Then 10 riders went away and I came back alone in the small group in front and on the last lap we gave a good acceleration. In the last kilometers the strongest 5 stayed in front and it was hard for us to catch up. I won the sprint of the small group, I am still happy and look forward to Saturday’s race. Last year I came. second after Colbrelli, this year I hope to improve”.
